GE Marine starts to sell COGES
GE Marine is set to start to sell its gas turbine-based COGES (Combined Gas turbine Electric and Steam) system this year. GE Marine’s vice president Tim Schweikert made the announcement during an interview with Nihon Kaiji Shimbun (Japan Maritime Daily).
COGES is a propulsion system which is a combination of a gas turbine and a steam turbine. A ship equipped with COGES can use MGO (marine gas oil) and LNG as fuel.
